Who Are The Falls Fins Coaches?
The Falls Fins Head Coach/Senior Coach(es) are our veteran coaches, typically high school seniors and first/second-year college students, who have displayed consistent dedication and leadership.
Our Assistant Coaches are high school-aged competitive swimmers. The majority of our coaches have earned their coaching positions through a show of commitment, leadership, and team spirit as a volunteer for our Junior Coach Development Program and as a Falls Fins swimmer.
All coaches have competed for their high school swim teams and/or competitive year-round swim clubs.
Junior Coach Development Program
Our Junior Coaching Program is an important part of the success of the Falls Fins Swim Team, it is an excellent opportunity for your swimmer to have a leadership role on the team and learn how to become a swim coach.
- Swimmers 13 & Up who have been a Falls Fins team member for at least one season are eligible. The Head Coach's approval is required.
- Shadow coaches; assist with younger swimmers during practices.
- Assist coaches with set up and take down of swim meets.
- Assist coaches with helping our young Fins with meet line-ups and relays.
- Cheer on and support swimmers during meets.
- Assist coaches with Fun Friday activities.
- Jr. Coaches are NOT required to be competitive club swimmers.
Once a swimmer has volunteered as a Junior Coach for a minimum of one swim season and is at least a rising Sophomore in high school, a Junior Coach can be considered to fill an available paid coaching position with Falls Fins.
Please CONTACT US if your swimmer is interested in learning more about becoming a Junior Volunteer Swim Coach.
